Help test Lineage Tracker

Before the wider launch, real gardeners and breeders make it better.

Thank you for helping. There's no sign-up for testing on the web: install it, use it as you normally would, and tell us what works and what doesn't.

How to help

Install it

Open the app on your phone and add it to your home screen. Step-by-step guide

Try an example

Explore made-up records first. Examples open separately from your own records.

Use it for real

Add your own seed, plants or animals. Back up often in Settings while testing.

Tell us

Anything broken, confusing or missing. In the app: Settings, Help and feedback. Screenshots are welcome at feedback@lineagetracker.org.

Worth checking

For plantsPackets, trays, plans and crosses
  • Scan a real seed packet, with and without a Gemini key.
  • Sow a seed tray, mark cells as they come up, and pot up the survivors.
  • Use Check before buying in a shop.
  • Plan a season, then mark something as sown.
  • Log a fertiliser or spray, then check the plant's history report.
  • Print or save a sheet of labels and scan one with your phone camera.
For animalsPairings, hatches, treatments and pedigrees
  • Add animals with ring or microchip numbers.
  • Record a pairing with an eggs-set date and watch the hatch reminders.
  • Log a wormer for a whole pen and check the withholding dates.
  • Print a pedigree certificate.
  • Share an animal's history as a report.
For everyoneModes, backups and sync
  • Try each mode in Settings: Garden, Seed saver and Breeder.
  • Back up, erase everything, then restore the backup.
  • Set up sync on two devices, if you can.
  • Use it with no internet, in the garden or the shed.

Android testers wanted

To publish on Google Play, we need at least 12 Android testers who keep the test version installed for 14 days in a row. If you have an Android phone and a Google account, we'd love your help.
